Fallen Men
and Women are Fools
"Because
that, when they knew GOD, they glorified him not as GOD, neither
were thankful; but became vain in their imaginations and their
foolish heart was darkened. Professing themselves to be wise,
they became fools," Rom. 1:21-22
Fallen man
knows GOD, having been brought face-to-face with Him and His
works. But fallen man has not responded appropriately to this
Divine knowledge by praising, honoring, or glorifying GOD...not
even a "thank you" for what He is, or what He
has done.
Instead, they
rejected the divine light of GOD and darkness entered into their
intellect, emotions and will.
The Fallen
Mind Glorifies the Creature, Not Its Creator
"And
changed the glory of the uncorruptible GOD into an image made
like to corruptible man and to birds and fourfooted beasts and
creeping things." Rom. 1:23
Fallen man
creates substitutes for GOD as in the godless theory of evolution.
Science textbooks teach students that man came from the ape,
rather than from GOD. In this way fallen man honors the beast
in place of his Creator.
The Fallen
Mind Does as it Pleases
"Wherefore
GOD also gave them up to uncleanness through the lusts of their
own hearts, to dishonour their own bodies between themselves:
Who changed the truth of GOD into a lie and worshiped and served
the creature more than the Creator, who is blessed for ever.
Amen." Rom. 1:24-25
GOD has released
fallen man to sink lower into immorality.
The Fallen
Mind Reaches the Depths of Immorality
"For
this cause GOD gave them up unto vile affections: for even their
women did change the natural use into that which is against nature:
And likewise also the men, leaving the natural use of the woman,
burned in their lust one toward another; men with men working
that which is unseemly and receiving in themselves that recompence
of their error which was meet." Rom. 1:26-27
Homosexuality
is a result of fallen man's rebellion and abandonment of GOD,
and they receive the penalty for their immorality.
The Fallen
Mind is Evil
"And
even as they did not like to retain GOD in their knowledge, GOD
gave them over to a reprobate mind, to do those things which
are not convenient; Being filled with all unrighteousness, fornication,
wickedness, covetousness, maliciousness; full of envy, murder,
debate, deceit, malignity; whisperers, Backbiters, haters of
GOD, despiteful, proud, boasters, inventors of evil things, disobedient
to parents, Without understanding, covenantbreakers, without
natural affection, implacable, unmerciful:" Rom. 1:28-31
The mind that
has rejected GOD - and has been rejected by GOD, is hostile to
inner harmony and peace and can only generate trouble.
The Fallen
Mind Enjoys Evil in Others
"Who
knowing the judgment of GOD, that they which commit such things
are worthy of death, not only do the same, but have pleasure
in them that do them." Rom. 1:32
This final
state of the fallen mind not only acknowledges the death penalty
of knowingly rejecting GOD, but vicariously enjoys sin committed
by others.
The Fallen
Mind is Blind to GOD's Truth
"Having
the understanding darkened, being alienated from the life of
GOD through the ignorance that is in them, because of the blindness
of their heart:" Ephesians 4:18
Spiritual blindness
is GOD's curse upon those whose hearts are not right towards
Him.
Finally,
Fallen Man's Thinking is Completely Manipulated —by the
Evil One
"In
whom the GOD of this world [Satan] hath blinded the minds of
them which believe not, lest the light of the glorious gospel
of Christ, who is the image of GOD , should shine unto them."
2 Corinthians 4:4
Without GOD,
fallen man is helplessly lost in bondage under the law of
Satan, which demands:
- That they
seek all their pleasures in and fix all their heartfelt hopes
upon this present age (over which Satan presides);
- That they
use their best endeavors —by means of various sensuous and
intellectual occupations and delights and countless ways of killing
time (which he has cleverly devised) —to keep their thoughts
from ever wandering into that Age to come, which will see him
a captured fugitive, instead of a prince and a god. [1]
