- Man's Greatest
Crisis
And
as it is appointed unto men once to die, but after this the judgment:
—Hebrews 9:27
-
- Based upon
our dreadful legacy of defying our Creator, what do you suppose
is the greatest crisis facing every man and woman? Global warming?
AIDS? Terrorism? Nuclear War?
-
- Not even close. None of those predicaments
are eternal.
-
- Man's greatest
crisis is facing GOD's wrath on Judgment Day, to be sentenced
to Hell to pay eternally for his crimes against his Maker.
- "For
the wages of sin is death;" —Rom. 6:23
-
- Eternal damnation
in Hell is the penalty for remaining alienated from GOD.
-
- GOD
to the Rescue
-
- GOD Loves
Us!
- "For
GOD so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that
whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting
life." John 3:16
-
- The Bible
describes GOD's great love for us. It describes GOD's plan to
restore fallen humanity back to Himself by sending His Son, Jesus
Christ, to pay the death penalty for man's sins.
-
- There are
over 300 prophecies in the Old Testament related to Christ's
arrival and sacrifice for humanity.
-
- Born to
Die
"From
that time forth began Jesus to show unto his disciples, how that
he must go unto Jerusalem and suffer many things of the elders
and chief priests and scribes and be killed and be raised again
the third day."
- —Matthew 16:21
-
- Jesus came
to die for our sins. For 3 1/2 years He went about healing the
sick, raising the dead and preaching the good news of the Kingdom.
-
- Jesus Prophesied
His Own Death
- "And
I, If I Be Lifted Up From the Earth, Will Draw All Men Unto Me."
—Jesus Christ
-
- Jesus described
His earthly mission of salvation to His disciples. As prophesied,
the religious leaders of the day conspired to have Him put to
death.
-
- Jesus Dealt
with Our Sin Problem - Once and For All
- "For
as by one man's disobedience many were made sinners, so by the
obedience of one shall many be made righteous." Rom. 5:19
Man's Debt
to GOD's Law —PAID IN FULL
Blotting
out the handwriting of ordinances that was against us, which
was contrary to us and took it out of the way, nailing it
to his cross; Col. 2:14
-
- Jesus offered
up His life voluntarily for our sakes. And in the process, He
nailed our long list of sins to the Cross, marked: 'PAID IN
FULL'.
-
- Jesus' death
made the full payment to GOD's Law for all of our sins, past,
present and future(!!!).
-
- Jesus Arose
From the Dead
It
was not possible for death to hold the Son of GOD, and after
three days He arose from the dead. The Bible records how the
resurrected Christ showed Himself to over 500 witnesses.
-
- After 40 days,
Jesus went back to Heaven, but promised to return again to set
up His Kingdom on Earth. He commanded believers to follow Him,
for the Church to be united and love one another, and to share
the message of what He had done for mankind - with everyone.
-
- What Jesus'
Death and Resurrection Means to You
- "To
open their eyes and to turn them from darkness to light and from
the power of Satan unto GOD, that they may receive forgiveness
of sins and inheritance among them which are sanctified by faith
that is in me." Acts 26:18
-
- Jesus' sacrifice
resolved all the key issues facing mankind, including unimaginable
benefits:
- He paid
man's personal debt to GOD's Law. Those who believe, repent and
accept His sacrifice will escape the horrible consequences of
GOD's Wrath.
- He destroyed
the super-human bondage that the devil exercised upon man through
lust, greed and pride.
- He restores
believers to a harmonious relationship with their Heavenly Father.
- He gives
believers eternal life, which was GOD's original intention -
before the devil caused man's fall.
- All of these
benefits (and more) are available to those who, by GOD's grace,
have a heart to hear GOD's message, believe it and repent.
-
- Only Jesus
- Why?
"Neither
is there salvation in any other: for there is none other name
under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved."
Acts 4:12
-
- The Bible's
message is exclusive in every way. It declares that there is
only one Deity who dealt with our sin problem —Jesus Christ. None of the gods of man's religions
qualify —not Buddha, Confucius, Allah, Shiva,
Mohammed, Krishna, —nor anyone else (Acts 4:12;
John 14:6).
-
- GOD's Greatest
Desire
It
is not GOD's desire that any human being suffer eternal damnation.
The Lake of Fire was not created for mortals, but for the devil
and the rebellious band of immortal angels that follow him (frustrating
GOD's plans).
-
- GOD has shown
His deepest passion towards us sinners: He sent His only SON
to die to save us. Jesus willingly came to Earth to suffer, to
be humiliated, tortured and cruelly executed by His own creatures…
-
- 'He
came to die
- on
a piece of wood,
and made the hill
- on
which it stood'

-
- GOD LOVES
YOU AND WILL FORGIVE YOU - JUST ASK
"That
if you shall confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and shall
believe in your heart that GOD has raised him from the dead,
you shall be saved", Romans 10:9.
-
- GOD asks that
we acknowledge His Son's sacrifice on the cross, confess our
sins, repent (i.e., turn away from sin) and be baptized. This
is what it means to be born again...to decide in your heart to
follow GOD.
-
- "Repent
you therefore and be converted, that your sins may be blotted
out" - Acts 3:19;
-
- "If
we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our
sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness" 1John 1:9;
-
- Don't Be
Misled By Man's Religion - Follow Jesus Only
"I
am the good shepherd: the good shepherd giveth his life for the
sheep.
-
- But
he that is an hireling and not the shepherd, whose own the sheep
are not, seeth the wolf coming and leaveth the sheep and fleeth:
and the wolf catcheth them and scattereth the sheep.
-
- The
hireling fleeth, because he is an hireling and careth not for
the sheep.
-
- I am
the good shepherd and know my sheep and am known of mine."
- John 10:11-14
-
- What You
Should Do Now
"But
as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the
sons of GOD, even to them that believe on his name", John
1:12.
-
- Jesus is the
Son of GOD and provides repentant sinners direct access to our
loving GOD.
-
- You should
get on your knees and confess your life of disobedience and ask
Jesus Christ to take your sins away and forgive you. Thank Him
for dying on the cross -in your place and ask Him to help you
to lead a life that is pleasing to GOD.
Next, get a Bible and begin reading the New Testament and ask
GOD to speak to you through it. Pray every day and ask GOD to
give you an understanding heart and to guide you.
-
- Put what you
learn in the Bible into practice. Meet with other Christians
who have a living relationship with GOD, who believe the whole
Bible and are passionate about obeying Him. Beware of the many
religious pretenders.
-
- "Behold,
I stand at the door and knock: if any man hear my voice and open
the door, I will come in to him and will sup with him and he
with me." Revelation 3:20
